Above the charming village of Mojstrana, on the steep walls of Grančišče, you will find two attractive via ferrata routes, offering unforgettable experiences in the rocky world. You can choose between two different ferratas, both of which share one major advantage: a very short approach to the wall and the entry point. A great view of both routes opens up at the Slovenian Alpine Museum.
The first via ferrata, Aljaž’s Route, is easier, rated difficulty B, and 300 m long, making it suitable even for those who are still gaining confidence in the world of rock.
The second via ferrata, Mojstrana Squirrels Route, is more demanding, rated C/D, and 250 m long. It is appropriate for those who already have considerable experience in such terrain. The ferrata requires proper knowledge and physical strength.
Both routes lead to the summit of Grančišče, where hikers are greeted with breathtaking views of the nearby Julian Alps and the Karawanks. The descent follows a marked walking trail almost all the way back to the starting point.
Recommended Equipment
For tackling the ferrata, we recommend a basic mountaineering set:
- a helmet,
- a climbing harness,
- a via ferrata lanyard set.
Equipment can also be rented at the Slovenian Alpine Museum.
